Sculpture 2014 opens at New Hope Arts on April 5 with reception and awards event on Saturday April 12 at 6 pm continuing through May 17. For more than 13 years New Hope Arts has showcased sculpture artists in this uniquely curated exhibition currently featuring 52 artists from the region and beyond. The widening circle of participating artists includes a variety of media and methods selected by Philadelphia jurors Darla Jackson and Scot Kaylor. This year’s event also includes many new artists to our local scene expanding the vision and perspective of contemporary work. The Sculpture Exhibition at New Hope Arts is always a much anticipated and enthusiastically received presentation for artists and viewers alike.
A retrospective presentation of several works by New Hope artist-resident Tom Galbraith will be featured along with the contemporary works. Galbraith, a long-time supporter of New Hope Arts and its programs will be remembered for his contributions to the community. Exhibition sponsor Larry Keller, Chairman of the New Hope Arts Board of Directors, celebrates the history of this organization as well as its growth with a presentation of awards for six outstanding sculptures selected by the jurors. Cash prizes are donated by sculptor Raymond Mathis and Tutto Metal Design Studios.
Gallery Hours are Fridays through Sunday from Noon until 5 pm.
